USF to look into alleged violations

TAMPA, Fla. (AP)—The University of South Florida says it will take a look at“issues” raised in an Internet report that alleges NCAA violations haveoccurred in the men’s basketball program run by Bulls coach Stan Heath.
AOL Fanhouse reported there have been multiple violations, some involving avideo and conditioning assistant who the sports site said broke rules byproviding improper transportation to a current player and overseeing open-gymworkouts.
Assistant director of athletics/communications Chris Freet said in astatement Thursday that the school will “carefully review the issues raised inan Internet report” and address them in an “appropriate manner” if action iswarranted.
Freet said school staff and personnel would have no further comment on thereport.
Heath is in third season at South Florida. He has also been a head coach atKent State and Arkansas.
