USC F Cunningham likely out for season

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Southern California forward Kasey Cunningham is expected tomiss the rest of the season after tearing a ligament in his left knee.
The junior starter also tore the meniscus in his knee while grabbing arebound in Saturday’s loss to Loyola Marymount. He underwent an MRI on Monday atUSC Hospital.
Cunningham’s latest major injury is another blow for the Trojans’ rebuildingprogram under coach Kevin O’Neill, who took over in June after Tim Floydabruptly resigned.
Cunningham already has undergone three surgeries on his left knee, tearingthe anterior cruciate ligament at least twice before. His 2007-08 season endedafter nine games with a ligament injury, and he played just four games lastseason before tearing the same ligament.
