No. 24 Vanderbilt defeats Arizona 84-72

LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP)—A.J. Ogilvy scored 20 points and grabbed seven reboundswhile Jermaine Beal added 18 points and five assists to lead No. 24 Vanderbiltto an 84-72 win over Arizona in the fifth-place game of the Maui Invitational onWednesday.

The Commodores (4-1) shot 31 for 57 from the field (54.4 percent), including7 for 20 from beyond the 3-point line. That made up for woeful free-throwshooting—15 for 29.

Arizona (3-2) was led by Solomon Hill’s 17 points and Kyle Fogg’s 10. NicWise, coming off a 30-point effort in an overtime win over Colorado, was limitedto nine points Wednesday.

Jeffery Taylor added 13 points for Vanderbilt, which shot 18 for 26 from thefield in the second half (69.2 percent) to overcome a 41-36 halftime deficit.

The Commodores went on a 14-2 run midway through the second half to turn a54-49 deficit into a 63-56 lead.
